Adventure Training forms an essential part of the Air Cadet's training syllabus. As well as helping cadets forge new friendships, adventure training enables all cadets to show off and develop leadership and teamwork qualities. Cadets may also participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, where any practice and experience they gain with their squadron will become invaluable.
The ability to work in a team as a team member is almost as hard as taking a leaders role. Cadets are taught leadership techniques and are given the opportunity to practice through practical exercises we call Command Tasks.
We also encourage and arrange for cadets to attend weekend activities either with the squadron or with ATC organised courses in adventure training. These activities are designed to increase confidence and build leadership skills for the future.
